Marine Navigation with Greg Neidhart
In today’s world of smart phones and gps, finding your around is pretty easy. But what did people do before gps? How did sailors find their way on the open seas? Today on Culture Clique we find out about early marine navigation techniques with Winona State University Professor Greg Neidhart. Greg is the Director of the Arts Administration Program at Winona State University but he was also a navigator in the U.S. Navy. Greg fills us in on the instruments and techniques sailors used to navigate as well as why these navigation skills are still important and relevant in today’s world. I’m Bill Stoneberg, with Professor Greg Neidhart, on Culture Clique.
Original air date: 07/11/19.
Culture Clique is written and produced by KQAL on the campus of Winona State University and is made possible by a grant from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
